Your Role

The Manager APG shall be responsible to the Director Maintenance for the overall operation of the APG Department, Weld Shop, and APS (Aircraft Prep Specialist) personnel. He/She will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned departments to minimize delays and maximize production and efficiency. The Manager APG will be responsible for maintaining the APS personnel manpower pool through the hiring of new personnel as needed. The Manager APG is not responsible for the oversight of APS personnel once they are placed on a program. After APS personnel are placed on a program, it is the responsibility of the Program / Project Manager or Leads to assign work and provide over sight. He/She shall coordinate with the Director Maintenance and/or Program Managers to ensure adequate staffing requirements are maintained

   

Responsibilities

  • Ensure personnel assigned to the respective customer programs under his/her department are qualified and are capable of performing the job properly. This involves assessing if the individual meets the operator’s required training and the individual’s job function against the employee’s specific skills and knowledge.
  • Assist his/her subordinates in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty.
  • Maintain all required equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition.
  • Ascertain that all necessary work records are properly executed by the responsible mechanic.
  • Maintain the premises of the Repair Station in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Be responsible for the proper handling of all parts while in repair process.
  • Initiate requisitions for stock and materials as required.
  • Assist recruiting staff and conduct interviews for APG personnel as required.
  • Evaluate all APG Contract resumes' to ascertain the Mechanics qualifications and ensure adequate experience levels have been met.

    

What You'll Need

  • Associate Degree or equivalent training, education and/or experience
  • Airframe license and Powerplant license (must understand, read, and write English IAW CFR 14, Part 145)
  • 5 years’ heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience
  • 2 years lead experience
  • 3 years supervisory/management experience
