Job Description

Responsible for performing routine and non-routine heavy commercial aircraft maintenance and/or modifications in an MRO environment, including component removal and installation, routine open/close, component tagging, wire cleaning, wire lay in and tie up, circuit breaker lockout/tag-out and safe/proficient use of ground support equipment.

   

Responsibilities

  • Remove and replace various aircraft components and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, communications, and certification requirements with various testing equipment on aircraft or in a shop environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all major electrical, communications, and navigational systems down to component level with various testing equipment on aircraft or in a shop environment.
  • Analyze all repairs deciding independent methods and procedures to accomplish assignments.
  • Lead and work with a small crew of 2 to 4 mechanics / technicians in performance of their assignments
  • Ability to perform major ADs, EOs, SBs, and EAs.
  • Capable working with Engineering to resolve work card or manual discrepancies.
  • Install and modify systems by identifying relevant instructions and use of test equipment on aircraft or in a shop environment.
  • Thorough understanding of flight deck operations (Autopilot, VHF, HF, Selcal).
  • Ability to perform basic ADs, EOs, SBs, and EAs.
  • Ability to evaluate Non-Routine work cards and order replacement parts.
  • Perform as a Relief Lead assuming all Lead responsibilities in his or her absence.
  • Lead and work with a crew of 8 to 10 mechanics / technicians in performance of their assignments.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the crew to minimize delays and maximize production and efficiency.
  • Instruct subordinates on proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed on each assigned task.
  • Must be willing to work day shift, night shift, weekends and holidays as needed.

     

What You'll Need

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Airframe license and/or Repairman Certificate (must understand, read, and write English IAW CFR 14, Part 145)
  • 5 years heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience
