The Manager of Regulatory Compliance shall be responsible to the Director of Quality for coordinating activities towards achieving regulatory compliance throughout the organization and acts as liaison with the FAA and the other airworthiness authorities. The Manager, Regulatory Compliance, will lead the efforts in responding to letters and concerns related to regulatory compliance and effect changes as needed to ensure practical corrective actions are implemented.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Acts as a liaison with the different regulatory authorities (in coordination with the Director of Quality and Manager Quality Assurance) about certification, audits and other matters.
  2. Initiates, reviews and coordinates responses to any concerns or letters arising out of the FAA or airworthiness authority inspection to ensure that VT SAA remains in compliance with the regulations.
  3. Perform data analysis of concerns and findings from customers and regulatory authorities to track trends and recommend measures to prevent a repeat of non-compliance.
  4. Works closely with the Quality Assurance team to track and verify the effectiveness of the corrective actions submitted to the FAA.
  5. Initiates, reviews and coordinates VT SAA’s different Airworthiness Agreements and applicable CAMP deviation letters with all the customer programs.
  6. Coordinates application for Repairman Certificates with the FAA.
  7. Assists the Director of Quality and the QC Manager/Chief Inspector in performing duties as necessary.
  8. Champion improvement initiatives that would drive regulatory compliance
  9. Any other assignments may be assigned by the Director of Quality or the VP/GM.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:   

Must possess FAA A&P

Must communicate effectively with regulatory authorities, customers, and other external parties.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and interact with all levels of employees, management personnel, and customer representatives. 

Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, the ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and be a self-starter. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

SUPERVISION:   The incumbent performs typically the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority.  Total end results determine the effectiveness of job performance.

 INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:  A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management, and the public.

 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:        Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but are not limited to the office.  Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations, and long work hours.

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: - 2 years of college/trade school preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE:  - At least five years of Quality Management experience

                          - Experience in dealing with the different regulatory  authorities and customers

                          - Part 145 Heavy Maintenance Experience
