The Auditor Quality Assurance is responsible to the Lead Auditor Quality Assurance for providing technical leadership/supervision and oversight of Quality Assurance activities that monitor/verify Regulatory Compliance with Government, internal, and customer policies, procedures, standards and regulations,

     

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform internal audits of VT SAA departments to ensure compliance with VT SAA, customer and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Perform surveillance of VT SAA’s activities within a customer’s program.
  • Document non-conformities on Corrective Action Preventive Action Reports (CAPA’s) in accordance with VT SAA PPM QC-010.
  • Assist those responsible for a non-conformity in the determination of the root cause and action required for corrective and preventive action.
  • Perform follow-up surveillance to determine the effectiveness of CAPA corrective and preventive actions.
  • Periodically review past non-conformities and other available data to identify recurring non-conformities, root causes as opportunities for quality system improvement.
  • Assist Training, Production and Quality management in the education of personnel on the requirements of VT SAA’s and customers’ processes, procedures and practices and governmental regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Maintain a Quality perspective in the production areas to encourage good maintenance and safety practices.
  • Interface with VT SAA management and customer representatives as necessary to facilitate program and quality system improvements.
  • Investigate aircraft damage incidents to determine what happened and determine the root cause of the incident.  Write a report of the results of the investigation detailing what happened, when it happened, who was involved (including their level of involvement), what the root cause of the incident was, what corrective actions were taken and what long term actions were taken to prevent a recurrence of the incident.
  • Perform other functions as directed by the Lead Auditor Quality Assurance and/or the Manager Quality Assurance. 

   

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:  The ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, by presenting ideas to co-workers, supervisors, management and outside agencies.  Basic computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)

   

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

SUPERVISION:

The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority.  Total end results determine the effectiveness of job performance.

   

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:

A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management and the public.

     

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.

   

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: 

2 years college/trade school preferred but not required.  

Hold an FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate preferred but not required. 

Previous auditing training/experience a plus.
