Assist the engineering department by providing entry-level engineering support maintenance.  Assists engineers with research, disposition, and repair assessment of structural repairs on aircraft during maintenance checks.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Assists engineers in providing Liaison support
  2. Assists with research and recommended material substitution and alternate production methods as necessary
  3. Assist engineers with supporting aircraft mechanics in evaluating the best course of action for a repair and assist in the interpretation of the aircraft manufacturer’s repair manuals, drawings, and other repair instructions
  4. Assists with developing and substantiating repairs and reconfiguration with DERs and/or OEM.
  5. Assists with the generation of clear instructions for work accomplishment
  6. Assist engineers with analyzing and interpreting ADs, FARs, and specific airline requirements (MRB, SSID, CPCP, CPM, SB, SL, IPC, AMM, SRM, OHM, ETC.)
  7. Assist engineers with performing structural design
  8. Assist with Engineering Orders, Engineering Authorizations, drawings, and manual revision

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Associate's degree preferred, particularly in Engineering or other STEM-related fields. (Individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree need not apply.) 
  2. One to two years aircraft maintenance/modification and  Engineering experience. 
  3. Experience with metallic and composite repair, preferably in an aircraft maintenance/repair environment, a plus
  4. Experience with aircraft modification a plus
  5. Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of employees, management, and customers/vendors, both domestic and international
  6. Proficient in the English language in both written and spoken forms
  7. Must be able to cope with pressure, deadlines, and emergencies. Works well with or without schedules.
  8. Must have good computer (PC) skills and the ability to work with numerous software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Standard office environment with regular lighting and temperature for most work. Exposure to hangar environment and outside temperature conditions.

 

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management, and the public and customer representatives.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:  Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office.  Must be able to cope with stress due to the demands in accomplishing set goals, meeting shore deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee attention and long work hours.
