Responsible for Mechanical maintenance and repair on Commercial Aircraft types.

  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Remove and replace various aircraft components with the use of special tooling following oral and written instructions such as supervisor’s directives and manuals to complete all routine and non-routine assignments in a timely manner.
  • Perform the duties of and provide the necessary training for lower skill levels.
  • Maintain and store tools in a serviceable condition.
  • Adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep a clean work area.
  • Successfully complete any courses deemed necessary by the Training Department.
  • Perform any work that may be assigned by his or her supervisor.

    

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:  

Good working knowledge or ability to acquire skills in the following:

  • Extensive knowledge and use of SRM, CMM and Drawings
  • Knowledge of documentation, task cards (customer work package)
  • Flap peening
  • Split sleeve cold working
  • Wing plank repairs
  • Skin repairs
  • Door corner repairs
  • Beaded doubler repairs (MD-11 )
  • Telescopic duct repairs ( MD-11 )
  • Wing spar repairs
  • Horizontal leading edge repairs
  • Wing leading edge repairs
  • Seat Track repairs
  • Floor beam repairs
  • Drills holes in structure and attaches brackets, hinges, braces, and clips
  • Locating, drilling and installing new panels
  • Frame repairs 
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Available to work shift work, overtime and / or holidays on occasion, and must be able to travel as needed to perform on-site repairs
  • Performs additional repairs, duties and responsibilities as assigned or required

    

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

SUPERVISION:  

Under normal supervision, performs structural and/or sheet metal repairs/modifications to aircraft, aircraft parts and components according to manufacturer’s repair manual specifications and FAA regulations to assure accurate repairs to maintain airworthiness in a timely and cost effective manner.

   

INTERPERSONAL RELATION:  

A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision.

   

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:  

Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to extract and replace parts in a timely manner. Must have mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by hearing for one’s own safety due to the dangers involved in the operations of shop equipment. Working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50lbs. and report to work regularly.

   

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED required.

A&P License desired or specialized training.

   

EXPERIENCE:

8 years minimum experience in heavy commercial maintenance (MRO) within the last 12 years.
